Sally Smith founded Connect Learning in 1999, her goal – to create a friendly environment where creative professionals would learn to use software tools. Connect Learning did just that. It was a leading Adobe Training Partner from 1999 to 2009 and was recognized as one of Adobe’s Top 6 Training Centers worldwide.
Connect Learning is changing its focus from classroom training to one-on-one tutoring, believing that tutoring offers more value to our clients who need to economize on training costs and employee downtime. Connect Learning is also expanding its training to include a language strand, offering English as a Second Language and Spanish language tutoring.
One-on-one tutoring allows Connect Learning to ensure strong fundamentals more quickly, by building on what learners already know and focusing on what they need. Technology clients tell us they want to spend all their training time on tasks they are currently working on, not on learning features they “might use some day.” Language learners want to spend all their time conversing with their tutor, instead of listening to other students–and their errors.
Intermediate and Advanced learners have difficulty finding classes that address their needs, and they often are under pressure to learn a specific skill for a time-sensitive project. CL provides expert technology tutors who research and document the needed solution or key feature and then teach the learner to master it. CL’s language tutors provide comfortable, enjoyable opportunities for learners to converse at a professional level, with sessions tailored to their specific language issues.
The majority of our tutorial sessions are online, saving both tutors and learners valuable time for learning, not commuting. Our tutors use GotoMeeting or Skype with video, for language learning, which require only a broadband connection and a headset. For learners new to online learning, we provide a free tour that shows what the experience is like. Our learners say they appreciate the individual focus and efficiency of meeting their tutors online.
