This class teaches participants the language that's the basis for all web pages. You’ll learn by doing everything from making one page with a line of text to creating tables and forms. When you’ve made your site engaging with background color, images, and even media files, you’ll learn how to send your files to your Web space.
Goals
Learn XHTML code and concepts in a hands-on class
Audience
Web designers, developers, and content writers who need to understand how XHTML works.
Prerequisites
You need to have used the Web enough to name one Website you like and one you avoid. You also need good basic Mac OS or Windows skllls. Good keyboard skills are a plus, and knowing how to cut and paste saves time.
Objectives
Day 1
- Recognize and use the XHTML code structure
- Set background colors and background images for your page
- Place graphics into your pages
- Format text
- Insert 3 types of links
- Create simple tables as an organized way of presenting information
Day 2
- Create tables as layouts for pages
- Create a form
- Insert email and bookmark links
- Add Meta information
- Embed media files
- Load your files to your Web space using File Transfer Protocol (FTP)
